We only publish numbers we can verify.

Rather than invent statistics, we publish figures once volunteers have recorded and confirmed them. Until then, this space stays honest and empty.

About us

Built By The Community, For The Community.

Allerton Allies Community Fridge exists to make food more accessible to local neighbors while encouraging the community to share resources with one another.

The fridge sits on Boston Road and belongs to everyone around it. People drop off groceries on the way home. People pick up dinner on the way in. No forms, no screening, no judgment.

More about us

Process

How The Community Fridge Works

  1. 01

    Give

Neighbors and supporters contribute food, supplies, time, or financial support.

  2. 02

    Stock

Approved donations are organized and placed into the community resource according to the organization's procedures.

  3. 03

    Share

    Neighbors can access available food.

  4. 04

    Repeat

The community keeps the fridge moving by continuing to donate, volunteer, and spread the word.

Accountability

Food Safety Comes First.

A shared fridge only works if people can trust it. We publish what we actually do — and we say so plainly when a procedure hasn't been documented yet.

Our food-safety procedures are currently being updated. Please contact us with any concerns.

See something wrong?

Spoiled food, a fridge that isn't cooling, dirty conditions, or broken equipment — tell us and we'll act on it.

Support

Help Keep The Fridge Full.

Your support helps Allerton Allies continue providing a community resource for neighbors in the Bronx — food, cleaning supplies, and keeping the equipment running.

The People Behind The Mission

Real stories, with permission

We publish stories from volunteers, donors, neighbors, and local businesses only when they've agreed to share them. We don't write testimonials on anyone's behalf, so this space fills up as people say yes.

What our community says

Google currently shows a 3.9 out of 5 rating from 8 reviews. That includes praise and criticism — including a food-safety concern. We're not hiding it. Read how we're responding on the Food Safety page.
